Brasserie de Poort

Since 1999, Brasserie de Poort is housed in one of the two last remaining city gates of Leiden, it’s a beautiful building that was constructed in 1667. The ‘Poortwachterszaal’ on the first floor (with roof terrace) is perhaps the most beautiful auditorium in Leiden.

The ‘Poortwachterszaal’ offers space for up to 140 people. However, thanks to the interesting layout, wooden beams and many different nooks and crannies, it’s also very well suited for smaller parties. The auditorium is perfect for lunch, dinner, buffets or even barbecues (thanks to the adjoining terrace). On a beautiful day, the exclusive roof terrace is the perfect place to enjoy the gorgeous view of the city and the surrounding water.

Brasserie de Poort’s location near the water offers many advantages. You can get aboard one of our boats, complete with skipper, drinks and snacks, and take a cruise of Leiden’s beautiful city center. Getting married in Leiden’s city hall? We can pick up the newlyweds for prosecco and wedding cake aboard one of our boats. Or, after the wedding dinner, enjoy dessert during a leisurely cruise. Your evening guests will welcome you from the roof terrace while they admire a beautiful view of the city.
